This panel explores the issues and setbacks encountered and the strategies and solutions created by five ArchivesSpace early-adopters while migrating to and implementing the software at their respective institutions.  The speakers discuss the content management systems from which they migrated (including Archivists Toolkit, Archon, Re:Discovery, and homemade systems), explore the issues and opportunities encountered during the migration process, and discuss how ArchivesSpace is or is not meeting their needs in production.

Joanne Archer is a Special Collections Librarian at the University of Maryland Libraries where she oversees processing, digitization, and researcher services for Special Collections and University Archives. She is currently managing the Libraries' ArchivesSpace implementation. Joanne has a MLS and MA in History from the University of Maryland.

Chris Ervin is Archivist for the Mojave Desert Archives located in the East Mojave Desert of California. He received his MLIS from San Jose State in 2013 after a 30-year career as an information Technology professional. Chris is a provisional Certified Archivist and served on the ArchivesSpace Governance Board representing the Very Small membership level from 2013 -2015. The Mojave Desert Archives is a charter member of ArchivesSpace.
