The trend toward big data has opened opportunities for archives to engage in new modes of access to collections, support digital scholarship, and automate descriptive practices. Panelists discuss how archival metadata, digital objects, and data sets can be used and reused, including their approaches to open metadata policies, the role of the university archives in supporting digital humanities and data curation, and computational techniques for generating collection-level descriptions.
